Couples Therapy Online, Australia Wide

Support for couples stuck in repeating cycles of conflict, distance, or disconnection.

BOOK A CALL

Couples often come to therapy feeling stuck in the same arguments, emotional distance, or patterns they can’t seem to break, even when they care deeply about each other. Conversations go in circles, misunderstandings build, and it can start to feel exhausting or hopeless.

Couples therapy at LOOP offers a structured, supportive space to slow things down, understand what’s driving these cycles, and begin changing them together.

Couples therapy isn’t just for relationships on the brink:

It’s for couples who are:

  • Stuck in the same unresolved arguments

  • Feeling emotionally distant, disconnected, or misunderstood

  • Struggling to rebuild trust after a rupture or betrayal

  • Navigating a major life change (new baby, illness, loss, relocation)

  • Wanting to feel closer again but not knowing how

Whether things feel tense, stuck, or simply off, you don’t have to keep going around in circles.

How we work:

Our couples therapy is attachment-informed and relational, grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Rather than focusing on who is right or wrong, we pay close attention to the patterns that emerge between you, especially during conflict, stress, or emotional vulnerability.

EFT is an evidence-based approach that helps couples move from cycles of conflict and disconnection toward greater clarity, emotional safety, and connection. Sessions are structured and actively guided to ensure both partners feel heard and supported. We slow interactions down, help clarify what’s happening underneath reactions, and support you to respond differently to one another.

The work is collaborative and paced carefully. Over time, this approach helps couples move out of reactive cycles and build more trust, understanding, and connection.

The Process:

You’ll be guided through a clear process:

  1. Joint intake session – We map out what’s been happening in the relationship, the patterns you’re stuck in, and what you’re each hoping for from therapy.

  2. Individual sessions – One-on-one sessions create space to understand each partner’s background, emotional world, and what they bring into the relationship.

  3. Ongoing joint sessions – This is where the deeper work happens: identifying patterns, strengthening emotional understanding, and rebuilding connection together.

This isn’t about communication tips or learning to fight fair. It’s about getting underneath the surface and creating a relationship that feels safer, steadier, and more connected.

What makes LOOP different?

Most therapy focuses on surface-level communication. At LOOP, we go deeper.

Our therapists are attachment-informed and trauma-aware, helping couples understand not only what’s happening between them, but why those patterns exist and how to change them.

This work isn’t about blame. It’s about clarity, responsibility, and learning how to move through difficulty together rather than against each other.

Some couples also choose to combine relationship work with individual therapy support to work on personal patterns alongside couples sessions.

  • That’s okay. Hesitation is often a sign of uncertainty, fear of blame, or not knowing what therapy will actually be like.

Part of the therapist’s role is to make space for this, not push past it. We work carefully to understand what’s underneath the hesitation and to ensure both partners feel respected and heard.

  • No. The therapist’s role is not to judge, referee, or decide who is right or wrong.

Instead, we focus on understanding the patterns that develop between you, especially during moments of conflict or disconnection.

The goal is to help both partners feel understood and to shift the cycle you’re caught in, rather than assigning blame.
