Maria Fitzgerald

Integrative Psychotherapist

Areas of focus: Attachment | Trauma | Relationship Challenges | Low Mood | Anxiety, Stress & Burnout | Grief & Loss | Family Issues | Life Transitions & Identity Shifts | Inner Conflict

A smiling middle-aged psychotherapist with short gray hair, wearing a light gray turtleneck sweater, standing against a plain background.

Maria works with adults who are emotionally sensitive, anxious, or navigating periods of transition, uncertainty, or self-exploration.

Many of her clients are thoughtful and reflective but feel overwhelmed by their inner world, stuck in familiar emotional patterns, or unsure how to make sense of what they’re feeling.

How she works: Maria’s work is grounded in attachment-based and trauma-aware therapy, with a focus on understanding how early relationships and life experiences shape emotional wellbeing over time.

Sessions are calm, reflective, and gently paced. Maria supports clients to slow down, build awareness, and approach difficult emotions with care, curiosity, and compassion.

Interests & Expertise: Alongside her psychotherapy training, Maria draws on a rich background as a visual artist, music educator, tai chi instructor, and art teacher.

This creative and contemplative orientation informs her clinical work. Maria is also a parent and lives in rural Victoria, where she values time in nature and around animals. Clients who appreciate depth, creativity, and a spacious, non-rushed approach to therapy often feel a strong sense of resonance working with her.
